Measure | Analyze | Take Action

What We Do

Aeternum helps you make better decisions about your environment – how much or how little pollution exists, the health of your climate and more.  We will build you a network of small sensors located throughout your community that run on their own power using solar, wind, or RF harvesting. Sensors that collect and send air pollution and other key climate data to you wirelessly. We will provide you tools and analytical capabilities so that you can take positive action now to improve your environment and make it less harmful.

Particulate Matter

Particulate
Matter

Aeternum sensors can measure hazardous solid and liquid particles in the air. For example, particulates caused by road transport or caused by building, construction and manufacturing.

Harmful Gases

Harmful
Gases

Aeternum sensors can measure nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide including toxic air pollutants from sources such as car emissions, waste disposal, natural gas extraction, and manufacturing.

Climate Conditions

Climate
Conditions

Aeternum sensors can measure in-ground and tree moisture, air temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, ambient light, and more.

Wireless Sensor Technology

How It Works

Aeternum’s micro sensors are easy to install and can be quickly deployed throughout a community. They’re powered without the need for public mains. Data collected by the sensor is made available through a secure wireless network so measurements and analytics are viewable anywhere, anytime.

Sensors are powered through solar and RF energy harvesting

Sensors integrate solar with patented RF energy harvesting method that uses rectenna technology to convert ambient energy to usable power and do not require constant battery maintenance or change out.

Aeternum provides secure wireless sensor networks

Micro sensors are completely wireless – they can blend in with the surroundings and be placed at any height. They can also be positioned on street furniture such as lampposts and signs; or attached to trees and other natural habitat. The sensors collect and send environment related data instantly or on a routine basis.

Sensor data is sent through the cloud

Data collected by Aeternum’s sensors is retrieved using a secure wireless network specifically designed for the application.

Data may be retrieved over NB-IoT and LTE-M networks deployed on existing mobile operator networks or long-range wide area networks (LoRa WAN) using unlicensed spectrum.

About us

We design, build and provide unplugged, wireless sensor systems that measure the health of the environment in your community. Based in Liverpool, England we offer energy efficient monitoring solutions that convert ambient energy such as solar, RF and wind to remotely power and collect sensor data. Our goal is to help you make better, more informed decisions about your environment so that you can mitigate or take other measures to keep your community thriving.

Class of Your Own
Aeternum has partnered with Class of Your Own to better understand how construction companies can engage in clean and responsible practices. We have deployed some of our air quality sensors in Glasgow at a site that is undergoing construction in the lead up to COP26. Additionally our sensors are located under one of the busiest bridges in Europe – the Kingston Bridge. Our sensors are measuring the particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air, as well as environmental conditions including temperature, relative humidity and pressure. Aeternum has provided an API to school kids in Glasgow that are taking part in Class of Your Own “Design the COP” challenge. Aeternum is committed to addressing air pollution by collecting and providing reliable, actionable data.
Liverpool City Council/ URBAN GreenUP
Aeternum is proud to work with Liverpool City Council (LCC) as part of the URBAN GreenUP campaign in Liverpool. URBAN GreenUP is an EU project with the goal of increasing the sustainability of cities and quality of life for its residents through innovative nature-based solutions. Liverpool is a frontrunner city in this campaign, and as such Aeternum has deployed its air quality sensors around the Liverpool city centre.
University of Liverpool
Since 2017, we have partnered with the University of Liverpool to develop patented RF energy harvesting technology. Aeternum is currently working with the University to deploy a city-wide air quality sensor network across Liverpool. Aeternum believes in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary approach to addressing air pollution, and we are proud to work side by side with the University.
